The Bayeux Tapestry is an 11th-century artwork that tells the story of events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, in words and images. The Tapestry is, in fact, an embroidery, made of dyed wool stitched onto a bleached linen background fabric. Find out more about this wonderful tapestry - its dyes and how they compare to the materials used in contemporary manuscripts and more with Richard Gameson.
