Friends & Family Day exemplifies one of Guest House’s 5 Pillars of Livability: Reconnection. Family and community reconnection play a crucial role in the successful reentry of women.
When women are reunited with their families, they are less likely to return to prison. As part of our Workforce & Life Development courses, Guest House offers parenting classes to residents, enabling them to acquire the tools and skills necessary to reconnect with their children. Finding support and connection within the community also increases success after incarceration. We are grateful to be part of such a welcoming community, offering so many opportunities to our residents.
