light as in weightless, and light as in the glow that comes through once the weight is gone. Late summer carries its own particular fullness — bodily, ripe, concrete: fruit hanging heavy on the branch, warmth, softness, abundance, an effortless maturity. In this class we dance toward that quality — ripe, nourished, rooted, soft and mellow, shining from within. A fullness that isn't about having more, but about fully being here. And then we take it even a step further - just as the trees begin to let their fruit and leaves go, we too let the weight go, stepping into more presence and light joy, unburdened and carefree, opening up to our translucent nature.
After shedding the weight of being full, what is left is sheer lyrical — light, spontaneous, free. De-light-ed. De-light-full. Come as you are. Leave a little lighter, a little brighter.
Lyrical likes, lyrical loves laugther
Laughing leaves lovely living lovemarks on
your breath and your fingertips
Lyrical is whimsical like popsicle toes, like icicle nose
Is constellational, and cares not about grammar, punctuation or accountable nouns
Is the light in August and peonies in May and daisies in vazes
Mixing, matching, dropping maturity mic like October fruit
Moonshine and shoeshine and lipgloss and hair toss
It tiptoes around and lingers below and checks you out from head to toe
Lyrical twists and shouts, baby!
Lyrical makes no sense
But it makes sense of it all
It loves the ride, this is not his first rodeo!

Lightly, my child, lighty stepping on those stepping stones
That span across a lifetime reaching for the baby pink and blue

About Zdenka:
After endeavours in singing and acting, my feet found themselves in 5Rhythms dance at the turn of the millennium. Since then I have flowed, stumbled and frolicked on many dance floors around the world. With Gabrielle Roth’s blessing I have been facilitating and inspiring others to find their own unique movement and expression through dance since 2005. Currently, I am living in Zagreb, Croatia, with my teenage daughter.
Deep down we all long for the same thing – to be seen in our essence and to connect with others from that gentle and vibrant inner space. My greatest inspiration in teaching is that we all, empowered, refreshed and resourced by dance and body movement, find our way through the shadows of our own psyche and come out on the other end feeling more alive every time we dance. Authenticity, freedom and joy are just waiting to happen when we give them enough empty space. There is nothing to fix, just to remember who we are at our creative core and let the mystery of life take over.
