Friday Social Sessions: Music, Conversation & New Connections
Friday night shouldn't mean having to choose between staying home alone or shouting over loud music at a crowded bar where you don't know anyone.
Join fellow San Diego locals, newcomers, and independent professionals at 1919 San Diego Ave for a relaxed, curated 2-hour evening social designed to make meeting people feel unforced and genuine.
Organized directly by Coastline Social Collective, this gathering is strictly limited to 40 guests. We strip away the awkwardness of traditional mixers: no aggressive sales pitching, no speed-dating timers, and no standing around holding a business card wondering who to approach.
The room is set up with warm ambient lighting, curated background music, and a complimentary chilled craft beverage station. A facilitator guides light social rotations throughout the evening so you have the opportunity to meet several different groups throughout the evening without ever having to "work the room."
Come on your own or bring a friend—the format is designed to make both feel comfortable.
What to Expect
- Thoughtful, Facilitated Arrivals Doors open at 6:15 PM. Check in, grab a chilled craft drink, and settle into the room. No awkward forced icebreakers the moment you walk through the door.
- Small-Group Social Rounds: Meet 3–4 people at a time through lightly guided conversation prompts that focus on real interests, San Diego life, and everyday experiences—not corporate resumes.
- Gentle Group Rotations: Structured pauses every 15–20 minutes give you an effortless, natural reason to transition to a new circle without awkward goodbyes.
- Open Social Atmosphere: The final 40 minutes transition into open connection time to grab another drink, revisit a great conversation, or simply enjoy the music.
- Chilled Zero-Proof Craft Bar Included:** Complimentary premium sodas, sparkling waters, and iced tea will be available throughout the evening.
- Strict 40-Guest Capacity: We keep the group intentionally compact so the room stays intimate, comfortable, and never overwhelming.

- Parking:Street parking and nearby parking options are available in the area. Availability and restrictions may vary; please check posted signage when parking.
- Zero Solicitation Policy:This is a purely social gathering. Commercial selling, multi-level marketing pitches, insurance soliciting, and recruiting are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal.
- No Alcohol Notice:To maintain an inclusive, relaxed, and clear-headed atmosphere, this is a non-alcoholic event. Complimentary premium craft sodas, sparkling waters, and iced tea are provided.
