Classy, sophisticated and very cool jazz from the Harvey Brink Trio, who'll be playing originals and standards performed by the Bill Evans Trio 1959-1980.Bill Evans (1929–1980) was a highly influential American jazz pianist and composer. Celebrated for his lyrical melodies, impressionist harmonies, and innovative chord voicings, he revolutionized jazz piano and profoundly shaped the sound of modern jazz.
Harvey Brink is a fantastic Jazz Pianist when he's not hard at work as Deputy Director of Music Wells Cathedral School. His love of Bill Evans' music really comes across in his playing.
He'll be joined by award-winning British virtuoso double bassist Ashley Long John. Based in Cardiff, Ashley is also a composer and his orchestral works have been performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The third member of the trio is Tristan Maillot on drums. French born, Tristan studied at Dartington College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music. He has appeared with leading UK and international artists, including; Art Farmer, Jim Hall, Bobby Shew, Scott Hamilton, Peter King, Stan Tracey, Dave Newton, Alan Barnes, Gerard Presencer and Jim Mullen. He has many recording credits to his name including albums by Tina May and Gareth Williams.
