A rhythmic ensemble weaves together different traditions, featuring live instrumentation alongside electronic experimentation. Featuring DJ Cvgebird and a trio of musicians, Youba Cissokho, Tacuma Bradley, and Faith the violinist.
Pop Up Studio with Oluwafemi | Great Stair Hall Balcony | 5:00–8:00 p.m. Oluwafemi takes over the Pop-Up Studio with a session of the Philly Drawing Club, focusing on drawing as a therapeutic and meditative activity. Come draw, color, sketch, and be inspired.
Communal Art-Making in Julie Mehretu: In Focus | Gallery 251 | 5:00–8:00 p.m.
Add to a giant artwork made of colorful tape in a project inspired by the lines of Julie Mehretu’s prints. Inspired by Mehretu’s compositions of dense layers in her work, with each layer of tape added, the composition of the work shifts and changes.
