Our annual fund raiser is set for Friday, October 23, 2026. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Program starts at 6 PM.The 2026 theme is “We The People!”
Our speaker is Battle Creek Central graduate and, Dwayne Barnes. He is currently the Founder of MBJ Strategic Relations.
Throughout his career, Dwayne has effectively bridged the gap between community members and policymakers. As the former Government Liaison for the Detroit Land Bank Authority, he served as the principal contact for the Detroit City Council and the Mayor’s Office, navigating complex intergovernmental relationships to advance municipal policy. His expertise in public engagement was further refined through key strategy and analytical roles with the Michigan League for Public Policy, the Center for Michigan, and Bridge Magazine, where he consistently elevated community voices in statewide policy discussions.
We also look forward to celebrating our NAACP Battle Creek awards, which will be announced soon!
