**Come meet Yeldā Ali. This is her definition of freedom. Told through our first episode, community, food, and a DJ party.**Freedom Frames is a docuseries following immigrant joy in NYC, created and hosted by actress/filmmaker Ava Yaghmaie (*Fleishman Is in Trouble*, Hulu/Disney+'s *Furious*).
Every episode of Freedom Frames drops with a party. Not just a screening, not just a Q&A... it's a full cultural celebration and gathering, themed to the world of the person whose story just dropped. Each party raises funds for the next episode.
Yeldā Ali is an Afghan DJ, mother, and artist based in New York City. Episode 1 follows her as she navigates identity, artistry, and her own relationship to freedom. As the subject of this episode (and the DJ at our premiere) Yeldā embodies everything Freedom Frames stands for: joy as resistance, community as survival, and art as a declaration. She has inspired us and we hope she inspires you too.
*"Freedom Frames is the culmination of my journey as an Iranian-American artist. Art isn't just entertainment — it's a tool for connection, empathy, and collective action. I want to create spaces where the truths and beauty of my culture, and other immigrant communities, are seen with dignity and pride."*\
