About Freedog

Mountain soul. Psychedelic rock ’n’ roll. A little wild, a lot of heart.

Born in the mountains of Park City, Utah, Freedog is a genre-bending blend of roots rock, soulful songwriting, psychedelic grooves, and improvisational freedom. Equal parts introspection and celebration, the band serves up music that moves between heartfelt storytelling, infectious rhythms, and extended, freewheeling jams.

Led by former U.S. Ski Team athlete turned singer-songwriter Bryon Friedman, Freedog carries the restless spirit of a life spent chasing mountains, music, and adventure. From late-night campfires to festival stages, Friedman's songs are steeped in the places he's been, the people he's met, and the winding roads in between.

Friedman's musical journey has earned him recognition as SiriusXM Coffeehouse's #1 Emerging Singer-Songwriter, a feature in The Ski Channel's The Story, and stages alongside John Fogerty, G. Love, Mat Kearney, Brett Dennen, The Band of Heathens, and more.

Backed by a powerhouse collective of Park City musicians, Freedog brings a dynamic live experience where soulful melodies give way to sprawling guitar solos, deep-pocket rhythms, and spontaneous musical detours. No two shows are quite alike, and that's exactly the point.

Their latest releases, the Winter EP and Summer EP, capture the band's evolving sound: organic, adventurous, occasionally irreverent, and unapologetically alive.

At its heart, Freedog is about freedom. The freedom to explore, to connect, to get a little lost in the music and find something unexpected along the way.

From the mountains, through the valley, into the sea.

Freedog brings together a seasoned crew of musicians with a shared love of deep grooves, spontaneous jams, and musical exploration.

Led by Bryon Friedman (vocals, rhythm guitar), the band features Max Webb (lead guitar), Stuart Benner-Campbell (bass), Dave Brogan of ALO (drums), and Nick Chamberlain (keys).

Together, they create a live sound that's equal parts soulful, psychedelic, and unpredictable, where songs stretch, grooves deepen, and the best moments are often the ones nobody planned.
