Come enjoy FREE tilapia tacos by the San Marcos River! We will serve free fried tilapia tacos to celebrate the end of the 2026 Winter Polespear Tournament. These tacos are made with invasive tilapia that has been removed from the San Marcos and Comal Springs. We will be serving tacos until we run out! Music by Chief and TheDoomsdayDevice. These polespear tournaments only target invasive fish, invasive snails, and trash out of the upper San Marcos River. All removed fish are eaten or donated for fish emulsion compost. Even though these fish are invasive, we believe they are still a resource and nothing ends up in a landfill.
Atlas Environmental could not be more thankful to Ivar's River Pub to continually host this event with us and their amazing gesture of support for the local San Marcos community and the San Marcos River!
Please come join us at Ivar's River Pub on Sunday November 15, 2025 at 3:00pm to meet your local spearos, neighbors, and enjoy delicious FREE fish tacos! A one-of-a-kind experience combining our love for the San Marcos River, conservation, and community!
We will have a donation jar for tips to help fund this event!
