For more than six years, our free repair events have brought local fixers and the community together to give broken things another chance. At the heart of every event is our brilliant crew of volunteer repairers, who generously share their time and know-how to help people repair the things they already own.
Bring along one item to work on with a repairer. It could be clothing, a broken zip, homewares, a bike, small electrical item, small piece of furniture, toy or something else that needs a bit of attention.
We really encourage you to sit alongside your repairer and get involved. Ask questions, see how they approach the problem and hopefully pick up a new skill you can take home with you. We can’t promise everything can be fixed, but we’ll always give it a go.
That’s a big part of why these events exist. Repair keeps things in use for longer, while passing practical skills from one person to another.
Love fixing things? We’re always keen to welcome new volunteer repairers. If you have repair skills you’d be happy to share, come and be part of the day. It’s a lovely way to meet other people who enjoy fixing things and share what you know with the community. Volunteer here: https://forms.gle/f7ZMZt4fswcX3Kqs6
