About this Event
🍕 FREE PIZZA. LIVE MUSIC. ALL LOVE. 🍕
Come hungry! On Sunday, November 15, Pizza Bae in Montgomery is opening its doors and giving away FREE pizza to the community, with Calgary’s own Jayme Minor, The Sober Rapper, hosting the afternoon and performing live.
No catch and no cover. It’s just good food, good music and neighbours showing up for neighbours.
🙌 Why We’re Doing This: Giving Back
This event is about community. Montgomery and Bowness have had a tough stretch, and the businesses on Bowness Road have felt it. We want to say thank you, bring people together, and remind everyone what this neighbourhood is made of.
🏠 Meet Saud: The Heart Behind Pizza Bae
Pizza Bae (“Before Anything Else”) is owned by Saud Abbasi. It started as pop-up events and grew into a full halal pizzeria serving Montgomery, Bowness and Parkdale.
When the water main burst in Montgomery on December 30, Saud didn’t just protect his shop. He helped several families get to safety during the flooding. In the weeks after, his business was hit hard. A boil-water advisory meant buying bottled water just to operate, and blocked access meant fewer customers coming through the door.
Saud kept his doors open anyway. Now he’s turning around and giving back to the community that stood by him. That’s who you’re eating pizza with on November 15.

Beyond music, Jayme travels to schools, hosts charity events and throws sober celebrations like Soberween and Start the New Year SOBER. He wants people to know that hope is real and you can have a great time without the booze. Expect high energy, big positivity and a live set you won’t forget.
