Free Open House: Intro to Music for Kids
Looking for the perfect way to introduce your child to music? Join us at CMC for a free Open House, where young students can explore in a fun and welcoming environment! Each session includes an overview of CMC and our programs, followed by short demo classes. Families will rotate through different classes, giving each child the chance to try them all!
This is a great chance to try out a class before our Spring Quarter (April 7 – June 16)—registration opens on March 24!
What to Expect:
Ages 4–7 – We encourage younger students to discover music through:
- Music for Children – Engaging, playful music exploration.
- Introduction to Piano – Hands-on fun with the keyboard!
- Time: 3:00–4:00 PM
Ages 8–12 – Older kids can explore:
- Introduction to keyboard – Hand position and simple melodies.
- Introduction to Guitar – Play notes and learn about this class at CMC
- Time: 4:00–5:00 PM

About CMC Sparks:
This program teaches beginning music and instrumental fundamentals in a fun, group environment. These sequential classes provide progressive opportunities to develop new skills, such as learning to play with others in an ensemble, easing young musicians into more advanced playing. These programs will give students the skills and confidence to join other CMC youth ensemble classes. See CMC Sparks classes and ensemble options here.
