We're delighted to be partnering up with HOME Manchester to provide a free LGBQTIA+ friendly screening of Todd Hayne's Carol on Thursday 10th December.
This queer contemporary classic follows the lives of two women who after a brief chance encounter begin an unexpected intimacy that acts as a tonic from their usual lives. Their attraction is tender but discreetly played out in lingering glances and a charged silence in a world that offers little space for women to live openly and on their own terms.
With its exquisite period detail, evocative score and luminous performances from Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, Carol is a beautifully restrained story of desire, freedom and the courage to choose a life of your own.
We'll meet in the downstairs bar at 17:30, with the film starting at 18:00
