About this Event
The program begins with Sita Singh, author of Indigo Hands, sharing a reading of her book. After storytime, families will explore the fascinating world of indigo through a hands-on dyeing workshop. Participants will learn how plants can be used to create color and experiment with resist-dyeing techniques to create their own patterns.
Throughout the program, families will discover how people use plants beyond food and explore the connections between nature, craft, tradition, and celebration.

LOCATION | This activity takes place exclusively at Vizcaya Village, the estate’s historic farm village, and does not include access to the east side of the property where the Main House and gardens are located.
VIZCAYA FAMILY PROGRAMS | This series is designed to create opportunities for intergenerational interactions among families with young children (ages 6-12). As such, orders that do not include a child ticket may be canceled.
To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
