About this Event
Think you need 20% down to buy your first home in Ottawa? You don't. In Canada you can buy with as little as 5% down on the first $500,000. On a $450,000 home, that's about $22,500, not $90,000.
Many Ottawa renters are already paying close to what a mortgage would cost. The difference is that a mortgage builds your equity. Rent builds your landlord's. Buying may not be right for everyone yet, but you should know your real numbers before you sign another lease.
Join MetroCity Property Group and BMO for a free, in-person First-Time Home Buyer Seminar. In one evening we'll walk you through:
- What it really takes to get started
- How much you can actually afford
- The programs that help you save your down payment faster, tax free: the FHSA, the RRSP Home Buyers' Plan and the land transfer tax refund
- The 5 mistakes that can cost first-time buyers $50,000, and how to avoid them
- Your questions answered by a BMO mortgage specialist
Bring your rent amount and we'll show you what it could look like as a mortgage. Partners and parents are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
Hosted by MetroCity Property Group, partnered with BMO 201-255 Michael Cowpland Drive, Kanata
