I’m Roya Basiri, a licensed financial advisor in British Columbia, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and families understand their finances and make informed decisions about their financial future.� I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a FREE 4-SESSION IN-PERSON FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP this November.
Throughout my journey as a financial advisor, I’ve realized that many people, including those who have lived in Canada their entire lives, are unaware of the financial opportunities, government benefits, tax strategies and the protections are available to them.
Too often, people work hard, earn money, pay their bills, and try to save for the future without fully understanding how to make their money work for them.
Financial education shouldn’t be a privilege. Everyone deserves to understand their options! �
That’s why I’ve decided to organize these four educational sessions to share practical knowledge that can help you and your family make an informed decision and build a stronger financial foundation.
� What will we cover?
� Session 1: Introduction to Financial Literacy
Understanding money, 4 elements of financial planning, inflation rates, how money grows over time, and the power of compound interest in building long-term wealth.
� Session 2: Saving & Investment Strategies
Exploring different investment options, including savings accounts, GICs, mutual funds, and real estate. Understanding risk, time management, returns, and strategies for growing your wealth.
� Session 3: Canadian Registered Accounts & Government Benefits
Understanding TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP, and cash value account. Learning about eligibility requirements, tax advantages, government grants, contribution limits, and how these options can support your children’s education, homeownership, and retirement goals.
� Session 4: Protecting Your Family & Building a Strong Financial Foundation
Understanding the importance of financial protection, including life insurance, critical illness insurance, and disability insurance. Comparing personal coverage with employer group benefits and bank mortgage insurance, and learning how to bring protection, savings, and investments together into a strong financial plan.
