Piedmont Newnan and the University of Georgia Extension In Coweta County, present FREE Diabetes Education.
This is a monthly diabetes support group for anyone who has been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, or who is prediabetic, who is looking to improve their diabetic condition. This class will be led by Olivia Handley, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, and is a partnership between Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the University of Georgia Coweta County Cooperative Extension. Program participants receive clinical support from Piedmont Newnan Endocrinologists.
Program Topics:
• Healthy eating, including meal planning and portion control
through the use of the Diabetic Meal Plate
• Enjoyable physical activities
• Positive group atmosphere
