About this Event
Join us at the Fraser Valley Writers Festival for our workshop with Jónína Kirton: “Finding the Beauty in the Truth”
Date: Saturday, November 7th, 2026
Time: 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Venue: B building, room B161.
“There is more beauty in truth, even if it is a dreadful beauty.” - John Steinback, East of Eden
Some truths feel as if they are ours alone to carry. Those around us may rewrite history and pressure us to comply with the acceptable family or community narratives. It may take time to gather the courage to write what we have seen and experienced. Together we will unpack the things that can make it easier to tell the truth. Jónína will share the beauty she has found in doing so.
They say the truth will set you free. If you long for freedom this workshop may be for you. It will include a guided meditation and short writing exercise.
