Explore a flexible approach to setting unconventional stones in this hands-on jewelry-making class at Tucson Jewelry School.Instead of trying to force an unusually shaped stone into a standard bezel, you’ll learn how to construct a frame and use prongs to securely hold a druzy quartz. This approach gives you more freedom to design around stones with shapes and characteristics that don’t suit traditional settings.
This intermediate class is best for students who are comfortable using basic jewelry tools and following multi-step bench techniques. It’s a great opportunity to expand beyond basic bezel setting and add another stone-setting method to your skill set.
Your instructor will be Kim St. Jean, Tucson Jewelry School’s resident artist, who has more than 25 years of experience teaching jewelry making.
