Did you know wheel throwing is one of the oldest crafts? Come get your hands dirty the ancient way in our four-week beginner wheel class! This 90-minute weekly class is designed to build your confidence on the wheel from the ground up. We’ll work on centering, opening, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and all the wonderfully messy little skills that turn a lump of clay into something you can actually drink coffee out of.
🎥 This Class is Going LIVE!
This session is a little different:
Louise is teaching, and we’re streaming it live on Twitch!
You’ll be part of the inaugural cast of our live wheel-throwing adventures as we bring the chaos, victories, wonky pots, and inevitable “WHY IS IT DOING THAT?” moments of learning pottery to the internet. Because you’re helping us launch something brand new, this inaugural streamed session is $195, regularly $225.
By registering for this session, you’re giving Kiln Creations permission to livestream, record, and use your voice and likeness in video and promotional content. Camera shy? That’s okay! We can position you away from the primary camera, so you don’t have to be featured on screen. However, because the class takes place in the room while we are livestreaming, your voice may still be picked up and you may occasionally appear in the background.
Please register for this session only if you’re comfortable participating in a class that is being filmed and broadcast live.
What’s Included
Your $195 registration includes:
Four 90-minute instructor-led wheel classes
Clay for the entire four-week session
Wheel time and use of studio tools
Bisque firing for everything you make in class
Time to glaze your finished work
Thursday Open Wheel Time from 6–7:30 p.m. for the duration of your class- First come, first served basis
That means you don't have to cram all your practice into class. Come back Thursday to trim, practice throwing, work on something from class, or spend another hour questioning why clay has personally betrayed you.
This class focuses on beginner wheel skills, so absolutely no previous experience is necessary. We’ll start at the beginning and build your skills and clay knowledge each week.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes you can move in and absolutely do not mind getting dirty.
Class: Sundays in October at 5p
Anything you make during class will be bisque fired at no additional charge. Glaze firing is $0.06 per cubic inch.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Four weeks. A whole lot of clay. One live camera. $195 for our inaugural Twitch session.
Come learn to throw with us—and become a very minor internet celebrity in the process. 😹
