Learn to taste coffee with more clarity, confidence, and curiosity.
Join Six Rows Café for a welcoming introduction to specialty coffee. This 90-minute in-person class is designed for coffee drinkers, TSU students, aspiring baristas, hospitality professionals, and anyone who wants to understand what makes one coffee taste different from another.
Through guided discussion and a structured cupping exercise, participants will explore how coffee origin, roast development, brewing choices, and sensory vocabulary shape the cup.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
• What “specialty coffee” means and how coffee moves from farm to cup
• How origin, processing, variety, and roast level can influence flavor
• The difference between aroma, acidity, sweetness, body, balance, and finish
• How to recognize and describe flavors using approachable coffee vocabulary
• The basic structure of a specialty-coffee cupping session
• How to identify the coffees and roast profiles you enjoy most
WHAT TO EXPECT
This class includes a guided cupping protocol using coffees selected by Six Rows Café. You will smell, taste, compare, and discuss coffee in small tasting portions while learning a simple framework for evaluating what is in your cup.
No previous coffee knowledge is required. You do not need to own brewing equipment or know coffee terminology before attending. Come ready to taste, learn, and ask questions.

Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. Coffee and tasting materials are prepared according to the final attendee count, so tickets are nonrefundable. If you can no longer attend, please contact us as early as possible.
