Foundations of Indigenous Cultural Safety

HPE OHT partners are invited to join us for a half-day, in-person workshop exploring the foundations of Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS).

Indigenous Cultural Safety is a lifelong commitment and an important part of providing equitable, person-centred and culturally responsive care.

Together, we’ll explore:

• The principles and purpose of Indigenous Cultural Safety
• The goal of advancing health equity and improving access to care for Indigenous peoples
• The historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities
• What Indigenous Cultural Safety means for integrated care, service delivery and partnership development

Grounded in the HPE OHT context, this session will reflect the realities of providing culturally safer, relationship-based care across rural, small-town and regional settings.
