About this Event
This creative, sensory space is inspired by the natural elements earth, wind, fire and water. Created especially for Barnsley Bright Nights by artists with learning disabilities and artists who are autistic, the space includes activities for visitors to interact with the art while they unwind.
Situated at The Barnsley Civic in the Hanson Room, this is an inclusive and accessible sensory space for the public, designed to reduce sensory overwhelm. With space to relax, an ambient sound-track and gentle, playful light floating over the room.
ArtWorks staff will be on hand to welcome you for a free 20-minute experience before you return to the throng of Barnsley Bright Nights.
Timeslots have capacity for 15 people, every 20 minutes, between 4pm - 8pm on November 20th, and November 21st 2026. From 8pm - 8.30pm the space will be open for casual drop-ins.
