Middle-Earth is threatened by a shadow... Mordor's armies rise... and a lidless eye watches from Barad-Dûr. But the time will soon come when hobbits will shape the fortunes of all...
Foul Fiend Theatre Troupe is delighted to continue its community Reading Series this summer with a three-part, come-as-you-please dramatic reading of all three The Lord of the Rings film scripts!
This event is a fundraiser for our upcoming production of Henry IV, Part One, premiering in Prospect Park this September. This event is open to the public and free to attend. Any donations we receive will be reinvested in pursuit of Foul Fiend's mission to create accessible theatre in New York.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Good food, delicious drinks, artisan vendors, Elvish music, and more! If the Tuxedo Park Renaissance Faire feels too far away, join us in costume and build some long-lasting bonds of fellowship out in Prospect Park!
This event is BYOS - bring your own seating! Grab a lawn chair, a blanket, a picnic, and some friends, and enjoy the day in the park with us.
HOW IT WORKS
Do you want to take the ring to Mordor? Sign up to be a READER or AUDIENCE MEMBER!
You can attend one, two, or (for the bravest of hobbits) all three script readings! Reader slots are first-come, first-serve, with 20 slots per script. NOTE: roles do not carry over from one script to the next; if you'd like to read for more than one script, you must RSVP for each block individually.
Whether you're a reader or an audience member, we encourage all attendees to come and go as you please. Stay for an hour, or stay the whole day-- whatever suits your fancy!
