About this Event
Real San Diego is our farmers.
Most of us have lived here for years without ever meeting the person who grows our food. Ken Tseng is one of them. He's the owner of Fortule Farms, a certified organic dragon fruit farm in Escondido, CA, and one of the farmers on the Adopt A Farmer platform.
Ken first tasted dragon fruit while living in Manhattan and fell in love right away. For years he didn't have the space to grow a garden, but once he found himself in San Diego, he had both the room and the climate to make it happen. He still has that first cutting from his home garden, and what started small has grown into the full operation at Fortule Farms.
We'd love for you to see it for yourself!
Your tour includes
A guided tour of the farm. See how dragon fruit grows and learn how your support makes a difference.
Time with the Fortule Farms team. Ken and the Heal The Earth team will be on-site to answer your questions.
A dragon fruit tasting. Sample some incredible fruit and discover the differences between the varieties grown at Fortule Farms.
The chance to adopt and take your first shipment home. At the end of the tour, you'll have the opportunity to adopt a vine on-site, as well as purchase dragon fruit and cuttings. If you adopt, you can take your first box home that same day.
What to wear
Closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. This is a working farm in San Diego County, so dress for the sun. Water will be provided.
Please note that as a working farm, we're not allowed to have dogs on the property.
