FORM & FIBER: The Sculptural Paper Atelier
Discover the art of sculptural paper at FORM & FIBER, a hands-on creative workshop in Los Angeles. Explore paper shaping, layering, texture, and dimensional design to create your own contemporary 3D paper artwork. Guided by a facilitator, you'll experiment with curved forms, organic shapes, negative space, and unique paper textures through four simple steps: Shape, Layer, Texture, and Finish. No prior art experience is needed, and all essential materials are provided. Leave with a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, protective transport materials, and easy finishing instructions for any additional drying required at home.

1:15–1:30 PM - Check-In + Material Preview
Guests check in, receive their workstation assignment, preview materials, and review the project format.
1:30–1:45 PM - Welcome + Technique Orientation
Introduction to the Shape → Layer → Texture → Finish process, materials, workspace safety, drying, and transport.
1:45–2:00 PM - Technique + Safety Demo
Demonstration of curling, scoring, bending, shaping, adhesive placement, and building dimensional forms.
2:00–2:20 PM - Composition Planning
Arrange shapes, explore balance and negative space, and plan the composition before attaching materials.
2:20–3:15 PM - Sculptural Form Building
Main construction period for raised forms, layered structures, and dimensional elements with facilitator support.
3:15–3:25 PM - Short Break
Brief pause for water, stretching, workspace reset, and adhesive set time.
3:25–4:05 PM - Layer + Texture
Refine the artwork with additional layers, texture, contrast, and dimensional details.
4:05–4:20 PM - Stabilize + Finishing Guidance
Secure remaining elements, check attachment points, and review drying and home-finishing instructions.
4:20–4:30 PM - Pack + Closing
Prepare artwork for safe transport, collect finishing resources, and close the workshop.
