About this Event
About the tour:
Join us for a tour of the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom, the Rhinelander School District's outdoor education and recreation center! CAVOC fosters environmental stewardship and lifelong learning through a dynamic outdoor curriculum. It combines structured and unstructured activities, expert-led experiences, and interdisciplinary teaching to develop socially and environmentally responsible citizens. Community engagement is core to its mission, with programs like trail access, lodge rentals, and a Challenge Ropes Course encouraging collaboration and shared responsibility for the environment.
Participants will see the CAVOC lodge and grounds, which includes the inside of the lodge itself (Great Room, Rominsky Room, Lu Berndt Classroom, Animal Museum, and Creation Lab). We will walk to the Long Lake pier and also the Bog Walk trail. Participants will also see part of the high ropes course as well as the outdoor Playscape area.
Important to know:
Attendees should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Consider bringing bug spray and sunscreen. The minimum age to attend is 6 years old.
Note for school groups:
If you are an educator who would like to bring a group of students, please request tickets for a group with this form.
