About this Event
An invitation to explore nostalgia & our relationship with the past.
We'll begin with a little education on the psychology of nostalgia: what it is, why we experience it, and how we're taught to relate to it. We'll unpack the narratives we've attached to reminiscing — the shame, embarrassment, or feeling of being too much for holding onto certain memories, places, people, or versions of ourselves.
From there, we'll settle into the art of junk journaling, creative writing, and personal reflection. Think sentimental keepsakes, handwritten notes, collected memories, and a little permission to romanticize the things that made us who we are.
We'll explore how to intentionally bring pieces of the versions of ourselves we long for into our present lives — whether that's the college you, the bride you, the single you, the younger you, or the you who once called somewhere else home.
Because perhaps we don't always miss the past itself. Sometimes, we miss a feeling, a freedom, a confidence, or a version of ourselves we want to welcome back.
All of this, accompanied by cozy surroundings, thoughtful conversation, and an afternoon tucked away at the darling Dot Spot.
A little nostalgia, a little creativity, and a lot of coming home to yourself.
