Featuring Resonance’s 2026–27 commissioning composer Judy A. Rose, wildlife photography by naturalist Ethan Allred, and Edie Hill’s poignant masterwork Spectral Spirits, a tribute to endangered and extinct birds, the program explores birdsong, migration, and the fragile interconnectedness between humans and the ecosystems we inhabit.
Works by Caroline Shaw and other composers expand the conversation, bringing audiences into a musical world shaped by flight, habitat, loss, and wonder. Through music, photography, and collaboration with Bird Alliance of Oregon, For the Birds invites us to pay closer attention to the lives unfolding around us—and to consider what changes when we listen beyond ourselves.
