About this Event
On March 15th we will screen the season 3 finale episode of Dawson's Creek titled "True Love" in rememberance of James Van Der Beek who passed from colon cancer in February.
"True Love" is an iconic episode for a variety of reasons: a huge leap in the Dawson -> Joey -> Pacey timeline resulting in the famous Dawson crying meme as well as a huge moment in LGBTQIA+ TV history.
In addition to screening the episode and raising a glass to James and his place in our 90s / 00s childhoods, we are raising funds for the Colon Cancer Coalition.
Colon Cancer Coalition , based in Minneapolis, has a goal to to reach every community, raise screening rates, and help families tell their stories to break down the fear and stigma surrounding this preventable disease. Through signature Get Your Rear in Gear®, Tour de Tush®, and Fundraise Your Way events, each year communities across the United States unite to fight this disease.
100% of donations collected with RSVPs and at the screening will be donated to CCC. Please note: RSVPs and donations do not guarantee entry but serve as a attendance previews for staffing purposes and for guest calendar reminders.
Doors at 6pm and our screening begins at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the event until 11pm.
