About this Event
Transform your everyday food waste into nutrient-rich compost for your plants right at home. Whether you have a garden, a small balcony, or just a spare corner in the kitchen, this practical, hands-on workshop covers simple composting systems you can easily set up and run yourself.
During the session, we’ll cover:
- Why it matters: The simple science of the nutrient cycle and how diverting food waste makes a real environmental difference.
- Home-friendly systems: Live demonstrations of Bokashi bins and indoor wormerie.
- Getting the mix right: Practical sorting tips to balance your "greens" and "browns" so your compost breaks down efficiently without mess or odour.
- Hands-on examples: See compost in various stages of decomposition, receive an overview of different composting systems for different situations including some live examples and figure out which system best suits your living space.
You'll leave with clear guidelines, straightforward recipes, and be able to start composting straight away.
This workshop is part of Camden Inspire 2026, a weekend of creative workshops, talks and activities exploring how our communities can come together to build a fairer, healthier and more resilient future in a changing climate.
