Fold your Brompton. Board the Pacific Surfliner. Explore San Diego.
All aboard! Join the Brompton community for a special day of riding and rail travel through Southern California, in collaboration with Amtrak Pacific Surfliner.
We’ll meet at Los Angeles Union Station at 7:30 AM for coffee, check-in, folding demonstrations, and a group photo before boarding the Pacific Surfliner. Brompton riders will travel together in a dedicated train car, with additional registered riders able to join the group in Orange County along the way.
Once in San Diego, we’ll unfold our bikes and meet up with the local Brompton community for a group ride through some of the city’s most iconic destinations — from Balboa Park and Little Italy to the Embarcadero and Coronado Island.
We’ll finish the day with dinner and drinks at Holland’s Bicycles and a Pacific sunset at Hotel del Coronado before folding up once more and catching the train back to Los Angeles.
It’s a full day built around what Brompton does best: connecting bikes, public transportation, and the freedom to explore.
This event is free to attend, but advance registration is required. Space is limited.
Tentative Itinerary

7:30 AM — Los Angeles Union Station
Meet for coffee, check-in, group photos, and Brompton folding demonstrations.
8:10 AM — Fold & Board
Depart Los Angeles aboard the Pacific Surfliner in our dedicated Brompton train car.
9:00 AM — Orange County
Additional registered riders may join the group onboard.
11:15 AM — Old Town Transit Center
Arrive in San Diego and unfold for the ride.
11:30 AM — Ride to Balboa Park
Meet San Diego-based riders and begin our group ride.
12:00 PM — Balboa Park
Sightseeing and light refreshments.
1:00 PM — Explore San Diego
Ride through Little Italy, the Gaslamp Quarter, and the Embarcadero, with time for lunch and sightseeing.
3:00 PM — Fold & Ferry
Fold bikes and board the Coronado Island Ferry.
3:30 PM — Coronado Island
Arrive on Coronado and unfold for the final stretch of riding.
3:45 PM — Holland’s Bicycles
Ride to Holland’s Bicycles for dinner and drinks with the community.
6:30 PM — Sunset at Coronado Beach
Catch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean and visit Hotel del Coronado, one of Southern California’s most iconic landmarks.
8:00 PM — Fold & Head Home
Return to Santa Fe Depot and board the Pacific Surfliner back to Los Angeles.
