FOCL presents Rebecca F. KuangRebecca F. Kuang is an award-winning fantasy novelist who published her debut novel, The Poppy War, at age 21; the trilogy was later named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Best Fantasy Books of All Time.” Her novel Yellowface was praised by Stephen King as “hard to put down, harder to forget” and was nominated for the 2023 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. In 2025, HarperCollins signed Kuang to a four-book deal that includes Taipei Story. Born in China and raised in Texas, she holds multiple master’s degrees, is pursuing a Ph.D. in East Asian languages and literatures at Yale, and was named to the 2023 Time100 Next list and the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2024.
