Join FMHCA for an immersive 8-hour clinical residency with Dr. Rivka Edery, creator of the U-Model™ and Somatic Decoding Laboratory. This is a hands-on practicum—not a lecture-only day—designed to move clinicians from talking about pain to working with it somatically.
The Focus
When an internal system becomes “entropic,” it often shows up as:
The Skitch — high-arousal reactive impulse
The Niggle — persistent nagging self-criticism
Participants will learn to bridge Internal Family Systems (IFS) with the functional precision of Process-Based Therapy (PBT) using somatic signal isolation, live micro-demos, supervised dyad/triad practice, and measurable tools including the Parts Flexibility Inventory (PFI) and Self-Connection Inventory (SCI).
The protocol
A three-stage Laboratory Protocol:
1) The Kinetic Descent
2) The Empathic Base
3) The Evolutionary Ascent
The day closes with The Architecture of Sustainability—strategies to reduce re-blending and relapse under real-world stress, plus a 30-day follow-through frame.
Learning Objectives
1) Identify and map the “Niggle–Skitch” network using somatic signal isolation (e.g., neck tension, chest tightness).
2) Use the Parts Flexibility Inventory (PFI) to quantify real-time decoupling (defusion) from protective scripts.
3) Apply the 8 C’s Frequency Check to access Self-energy as a stable co-regulator.
4) Execute a Functional Pivot so a protector (e.g., Distractor) can take a values-aligned role (e.g., Discerning Advisor).
