Floyds Row are an internationally touring folk-classical collective formed at the University of Oxford in 2012, bringing centuries-old musical traditions into the present through inventive arrangements and an eclectic mix of instrumentation. Drawing from British and American folk, classical, newgrass, and world music, the ensemble combines violin, accordion, mandolin, viola da gamba, percussion, and vocals to reinterpret traditional ballads alongside original compositions and occasional modern covers. Their recordings include 2018’s The Oxford Sessions and 2026’s The Carlisle Sessions, which breathes new life into historical songs and stories with a distinctly contemporary spirit.
Chris Moyse is a Nashville-based folk and Americana singer-songwriter originally from Monroe, Connecticut, known for his darkly humorous storytelling, revealing lyrics, and rootsy blend of folk, country, and blues. A winner of the 2017 Kerrville New Folk songwriting competition, Moyse has spent years touring nationally and sharing stages with artists including Joe Ely, Mary Gauthier, and members of Old Crow Medicine Show. Influenced by songwriters like Jason Isbell, Gillian Welch, and Hayes Carll, his music favors unvarnished stories and complicated characters over easy sentimentality. His album Bitter Ballads & Cynical Prayers showcases that approach, pairing richly detailed songwriting with understated arrangements and warm, expressive vocals.
