About this Event
Take a moment for yourself this fall and go exploring! Join an experienced guide, get outside and enjoy the natural wonders of St. Lucie County with the Environmental Resources Department's award-winning Guided Nature Program series. With over 11,000 acres of protected land in the county, there are plenty of opportunities to hit the trails. Whether it’s your first time joining the program, or your 100th time, there’s always something exciting to discover on St. Lucie County Preserves!
· Saturday, Oct 17 – Florida’s Array of Colors Walk at Spruce Bluff Preserve (9:00am-11:00am) - The North and South sections of this trail showcase two distinctly different habitats. The North features a rosemary scrub, while the South is a basin marsh. Join us to learn how these contrasting ecosystems can exist so close together. We’ll identify key indicator species in each habitat, explore the role of soils and hydrology, and discuss aspects of Florida’s natural history.
