The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Certified Professional (FFLCP) Field Module is the final step toward earning the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Certified Professional designation. This certification recognizes individuals who have completed advanced training in Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles and are familiar with current UF/IFAS recommendations for sustainable landscape management. Certified professionals are trained to identify common landscape challenges and implement environmentally responsible practices that help conserve water and protect Florida’s natural resources.
Before attending the Field Module, candidates must successfully complete the required online prerequisite courses, which provide the foundational knowledge needed for certification. Information about these courses can be found on the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Online Courses webpage.
The 4-hour Field Module includes classroom instruction, hands-on field training, and a certification exam. Participants review Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles, evaluate real-world landscape conditions, identify invasive plants and weeds, distinguish Florida-Friendly and non-Florida-Friendly practices, and discuss recommended management strategies. Upon successful completion of the module, exam, and Code of Ethics agreement, participants earn the FFLCP designation.
