Tailgate & Watch Party
On Saturday, November 28, 2026, FLORECER’s 3rd Annual Tailgate & Watch Party will transform one of Arizona’s most celebrated collegiate traditions into an opportunity to advance higher education attainment for students from rural border communities. The University of Arizona and Arizona State University compete for the Territorial Cup, which the NCAA has certified as the nation’s oldest known collegiate rivalry trophy, first awarded in 1899.
FLORECER leverages the excitement and statewide pride surrounding this historic rivalry to bring students, families, educators, and community partners together around a shared commitment to higher education. Many of the students FLORECER serves are the first in their families to pursue college and often navigate complex college and career pathways in isolation, without consistent access to experienced guidance, mentorship, or professional networks.
All tickets and sponsorship proceeds benefit FLORECER’s College and Career Pathways programming, providing Arizona students with mentorship, college preparation, financial-aid guidance, career exploration, digital skills, family engagement, and youth leadership opportunities. Through this event, collegiate competition becomes a powerful platform for ensuring that students in Arizona’s rural border communities do not have to navigate their futures in isolation.
