Manuel Gutiérrez, (singer, dancer) whose family roots are in Córdoba, Spain, has enjoyed a prolific international career as a flamenco dancer performing at festivals around the world. London’s The Telegraph called his work “Fiery,” while Le Figaro praised his dancing as “strong, voluptuous, and spectacular.” He is a celebrated mentor and internationally known choreographer, including Flamenco! Santa Barbara and the Music Academy of the West, and serves as artistic director for the Global Gift Gala, collaborating with actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria.
Ryan Zermeño (dancer) is a Santa Barbara–born flamenco artist who began studying with Roberto Amaral at age nine. His training in Spain includes work with Domingo Ortega, Ramón Martínez, and Juan de los Reyes. A professional performer since childhood, he has appeared alongside leading flamenco artists throughout Southern California, including at Vida Flamenca’s Cumbre Flamenca festival at BroadStage.
Andrés Vadín (guitar) is a Havana-born guitarist, composer, and arranger whose music draws on flamenco, Cuban traditions, jazz, and Arabic influences. His recording credits include the Latin Grammy–nominated albums Cuba le canta a Serrat and Bajo Mundo. He has collaborated with artists including Antonio Carmona, Concha Buika, and Jorge Pardo, and performed internationally at Glastonbury, WOMAD, and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
Diego Álvarez “El Negro” (cajon) is a Venezuelan-born percussionist and master of the flamenco cajón whose career includes more than twelve Latin Grammy nominations. During sixteen years in Spain, he performed with leading flamenco artists including Joaquín Cortés, Sara Baras, Antonio Canales, and Paco Peña. His collaborations also include Diego el Cigala, Antonio Carmona, and Gustavo Dudamel with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His work bridges flamenco, jazz, and Latin American rhythms.
Ysabella Yturralde (dance) began training at age five with Linda Vega. She has performed with Theatre Flamenco of San Francisco and was a featured dancer in María Bermúdez’s Convivencias at The Ford and Tablao Museo.
