About this Event
As trust in institutions declines and governance grapples with an increasingly complex society, citizens’ assemblies and other deliberative processes are gaining traction as practical tools for democratic renewal.
Join us on April 27th at Columbia University for a conversation with Peter MacLeod, co-author of , and Hélène Landemore, author of , to hear about the growing movement behind these approaches. Together we’ll explore how they work, where they’re making a difference, and what it would look like to use them more widely — including here in New York City and beyond.
This in-person event is hosted by Columbia World Projects, the NYC Civic Engagement Commission, the Federation for Innovation in Democracy - North America, and New America's Political Reform Program. Complimentary copies of Peter and Hélène’s books will be available to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
