About this Event
Held the day before Worker Memorial Day, this panel will talk about current risks to workplace safety and health - including extreme heat, ergonomic harms at warehouses, and ongoing dangers on construction sites - and we will relate these events to historical context, including the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, in which 146 garment workers died. We will also hear about efforts by government, unions, and nonprofits to improve workplace safety and health. Hosted by the NYU Wagner Labor Initiative.
