This six-week course is designed to build your skills, confidence, and knowledge in growing seasonal vegetables — whether you’re working with a backyard, containers, or a small urban plot.
Led by an experienced tutor, each session combines practical demonstrations, home garden tasks, and expert advice on managing crops, pests, compost, and soil health.

Tutor: Nicola Mears
Nicola is an Ōtautahi-based horticulturist with a background in sustainable agriculture, permaculture, and biodynamics. With roots in North Canterbury and international experience, including running an organic farm park in South America - she now manages the St Albans Uniting Parish Community Garden and teaches practical, climate-resilient food growing.
