First Day Celebrate the first day of the new year with the Preserve Manager. Bring binoculars for a chance at some rare bird sightings of a Northern Shrike or Saw-whet Owl, more commonly Red-breasted Nuthatch or Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Wish for a snow-covered landscape to reveal wildlife tracks and signs. Easy-moderate hike (1.5 miles) – snow and ice can make boardwalk slick.

Please email [email protected] to register in case of cancellation. All hikes are weather dependent – cancelled under Lucas County Snow Emergency. Carpooling is encouraged. No restrooms on site.
