About the Speaker
Dr. Tammie Chang is a practicing board-certified pediatric oncologist and pediatric hospitalist, award-winning author, TEDx speaker, leadership coach, and fierce national advocate for gender equity and cultural change in healthcare. She is the Co-Founder of Pink Coat, MD, the Co-Founder of the American Medical Women’s Association’s ELEVATE Leadership Development Program and served as the first Medical Director of Physician/APP Wellness for her health system from 2021-2026. Her organization has received the American Medical Association’s Joy in Medicine Recognition Award under her leadership since 2022.
Dr. Chang received her B.A. and M.D. degrees from Brown University, completed her internal medicine/pediatrics residency at the University of Massachusetts and her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She is an ICF-certified leadership coach and received her coaching certifications from the Co-Active Training Institute and the International Coaching Federation. She has additional training and certifications from John Maxwell Leadership, Gallup CliftonStrengths, Crucial Conversations, Perceptual Intelligence, Leadership Circle Profile, and as a Playing Big Facilitator.
She is the award-winning author of Boundaries for Women Physicians and the co-author of How to Thrive as a Woman Physician. She has received numerous awards including Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women Leaders of Washington for 2022, 2024 and 2025, the 2022 American Stevie Business Awards Gold Maverick of the Year and Woman of the Year, the 2022 Stevie American Women in Business Gold Woman of the Year in Healthcare Award, and Health 2.0’s 2022 Outstanding Healthcare Leadership Award. Her book, Boundaries for Women Physicians, was named 2023 Gold Book of the Year by Stevie American Women in Business and received the 2022 Gold Living Now Evergreen Book Award, honoring books for contributing to positive global change. She was named one of Seattle’s Top Doctors in 2024 in pediatric hematology/oncology.
