We really don’t think it’s just our imagination, but it feels like everyone we know is isolated, stressed out, and generally having a hard time holding it all together. And we get it. This administration, this economy, the absolutely bonkers set of circumstances we’re all trying to live through while still having to go to work, pay our bills, and show up for all the other things we’re supposed to be doing. The cognitive dissonance is EXHAUSTING.So we thought maybe we could all use a soft, gentle evening centered around connection and burning shit.
Around here, we love the smell of a campfire. We love sitting around a good fire with friends, having a beverage, and toasting marshmallows while the world carries on doing whatever the hell it’s doing. We’ll have s’mores, chowder, and several fire pits going, because sometimes a little warmth and something good to eat can make the day feel a bit more manageable.
Our hope is to make this a low-pressure queer mixer. A chance to meet some new people, spend time outside, and connect with each other in an offline environment where nobody needs to perform, network, or pretend they’re not tired.
We’re lucky enough to have a whole quarter-acre yard at the Clubhouse, with several fire pits scattered around, so there should be plenty of room to find your spot. Bring a camp chair, grab a blanket if you think you’ll need one, and come settle in with us for a while. We’ll make sure there’s a fire to sit by.
The world is exhausting, people are lonely, and sometimes the answer is to get outside, sit around a fire, eat something warm, and be around people who get it.
