The Fir Lumber Rally is back!Do you like building things? Do you have a need for speed? Do you wish there was a derby car racing event that YOU could sign up for?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, have we got the event for you!
The Omaha Maker Group at Made New Makerspace proudly presents the 2026 Fir Lumber Rally! This is a derby car rally for all ages, where creative makers can put their car head-to-head to see who will come out on top. All ages are welcome at this event, where there will be fast cars and cash prizes.
Wait? Did we say cash prizes?
Oh, yes we did!
There will be two classes in the rally: Gravity and Gravity+
The Gravity class is for your traditional derby car. The Gravity+ class allows you to “assist” gravity in creative ways to make your car even faster.
FIRST PLACE in each class is a $50 CASH PRIZE!
Second place in each class will bring home a $25 cash prize.
Additionally, one junior participant (ages 15 and under) will take home a $25 cash prize.
On top of the cash prizes, there will also be awards for other categories, such as best effort.
Visit the ticket link to register and read the official rules.
Entry fees for this year are $5 per car for OMG members, or $10 per car for non-members.
Come and join us for the most fun of your summer. We can’t wait to see you at the Fir Lumber Rally!
(Note: We will reach out to everyone who registers to get their car names/final details in early November.)
