Come hear some lively and beautiful instrumental music from 17th-century Italy! There will be toccatas, canzonas, dances and sonatas by Frescobaldi, Piccinini, Kapsperger, Selma y Salaverde, Fontanelli & Corelli. And there will be some fantastic pieces for viola da gamba played "alla bastarda", including a toccata by Orazio Bassani and a diminution on "Anchor che col partire" by Rogniono. Plus a toccata by the great Giovanni Girolamo Kapsperger. Not to be missed! Performers: Duo Maresienne (Carol Lewis, violas da gamba; Olav Chris Henriksen, lute & theorbo) The concert takes place in Lindsay Chapel at First Church Congregational.
