What truth is asking to be spoken... and what might be keeping you from speaking it?As we move deeper into fall and the Ayurvedic season of Vata, life can begin to feel a little more scattered, restless, busy, and overstimulated. Vata carries the qualities of air, movement, change, and creativity, making this a beautiful time to slow down, ground ourselves, and listen a little more closely to what is happening within.
Finding Your Voice is a two-hour yoga, writing, and self-expression experience created to help you do exactly that.
Yoga teacher and Ayurveda Counselor Dawn Shanthi DiVita and writer and poet Jenny Jimenez-Sullivan will guide you through an evening that weaves together gentle movement, breath, meditation, poetry, journaling, conversation, and voice.
We will also explore the symbolism of the throat chakra, Vishuddha, associated with communication, truth, boundaries, creativity, and authentic self-expression.
And because slowing down sometimes begins with something as simple as holding a warm cup in your hands, we’ll incorporate a seasonal tea into the experience, inviting you to sip, settle, reflect, and connect throughout the evening.
Your evening will include:
Opening intention-setting and grounding
A gentle, Vata-balancing yoga practice
Breathwork with throat, neck, and shoulder opening
Seasonal tea to sip throughout the experience
A spoken-word offering from Jenny
Guided journaling and creative writing prompts
Exploration of truth, boundaries, and authentic self-expression
Throat chakra-inspired mantra and vocalization
A “From Page to Voice” experience, inviting you to give sound to something you have written
Grounding yoga and meditation
Closing reflection and community circle
No yoga experience. No writing experience. No perfectly chosen words required.
You do not have to consider yourself a writer. You do not have to be comfortable speaking in front of people. And you will never be required to share anything you would rather keep for yourself.
Simply come as you are.
Bring your curiosity, your stories, your unfinished thoughts, your quiet voice, your loud voice, or even the voice you are still learning how to hear.
Why you don't want to miss this
This is more than a yoga class.
It is more than a writing workshop.
It is an opportunity to step away from the noise for two hours and create enough space to hear yourself again.
You may leave with words you didn't know were waiting to be written, a truth that feels a little easier to speak, or simply a deeper sense of grounding as we move through the changing season.
Sometimes finding your voice doesn't mean becoming louder.
Sometimes it simply means becoming quiet enough to hear what has been there all along.
