Explore the unpredictable beauty of water and ink in Finding Forms, a hands on workshop led by Abigail Brumett. This class focuses on wet on wet techniques that use water, movement, and ink diffusion to create expressive imagery that balances artistic control with the natural behavior of the medium.Participants will experiment with techniques including ink diffusion, water blooms, controlled washes, abstract marbling, negative space painting, wet on wet blending, and more. Learn how to create shapes with water first, introduce ink, and then guide the pigment as it spreads, pools, bleeds, and develops organically across the surface.
Rather than forcing every mark, you will learn to find imagery within the movement of the ink, transforming unexpected shapes and patterns into animals, portraits, florals, abstract compositions, and other expressive forms.
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in loosening up their creative process, experimenting with abstraction, or discovering a new approach to drawing and painting. No prior ink experience is necessary.
